Frequently Asked Questions
Most frequent questions and answers
What is ECP Therapy?
ECP Therapy (also referred to as EECP — Enhanced External Counterpulsation Therapy) is a non-invasive, clinically studied therapy designed to support circulation. It uses pressure cuffs on the legs that inflate and deflate in time with your heartbeat.
Is ECP Therapy painful?
Most people find sessions comfortable and relaxing. The pressure can be adjusted to support comfort and safety.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goals, suitability, and clinical presentation. We will discuss a recommended plan during your consultation.
Can ECP Therapy help with heart disease or angina?
ECP Therapy is clinically studied for use with heart disease and chronic stable angina. It may help reduce symptoms and support improved exercise tolerance and functional capacity for suitable clients. During your consultation, we will review your history, discuss suitability, and outline what outcomes are realistic for your situation.
Can ECP Therapy support rehabilitation?
For suitable clients, ECP Therapy may be used as a supportive tool within rehabilitation plans. Physiotherapy works alongside our clinic and may incorporate ECP Therapy alongside hands-on treatment and progressive exercise-based rehabilitation to support a graded return to activity or work.
Do you offer diagnostics?
Yes. Where appropriate, we use non-invasive assessments such as the Precision Cardio Scan and Bio Map+ testing to establish a baseline and guide planning. Diagnostic ultrasound is available on the premises to support assessment and rehabilitation planning.
Is ECP Therapy ACC covered?
We are working toward ACC accreditation. During your consultation, we can discuss your situation and what funding options may be available or appropriate for your needs.
How do I get started?
Book a consultation. We will review your goals, suitability, and what to expect.
